"Twang" is a song by George Strait which is the opening track and title song from Strait's 38th studio album. Long-time Strait favorite Jim Lauderdale co-wrote this honky-tonker about playing music on a juke box with Jimmy Ritchey and Kendell Marvel. Strait commented on making this the title track: "It didn't come about until after the record was done, and that's such an obvious title for it.

The song was written by Norman Span and Irving Burgie and popularized by Harry Belafonte on his album Jump Up Calypso, where it was simply called "Monkey". The lyrics were adapted by writer and producer Tom Ruegger for this cartoon. The original lyrics was about an actual monkey driving the narrator crazy everywhere he went.
